EJ Obiena Takes First ever Medal for PH in Worlds


 
Ernest John of Obiena of the Philippines captures bronze medal in men's pole vault in the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States.
 
He becomes the first Filipino to win a medal in the world championships resetting his Asian record with a clearance of 5.94 meters.
 
He also becomes the first Southeast Asian athlete to win medal in World Athletics Championships. 
 
The World Athletics Championships was held from July 15 to July 24.
