Malaysia took home the First Two SEA Games Gold Medals

Malaysia took home the first two (2) SEA Games gold medals at the on going 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.

Nur Dhabitah Sabri clinched the gold medal in the women's individual 1m springboard event. Sabri accumulated a total score of 290.45 ahead of silver medalist Kimberly Bong which is also from Malaysia.

The bronze medal was won by Vietnamese Ngô Phương Mai. This is the first medal of the host country.
 
At the same day, Malaysia won another gold medal in the men's synchronized 3m springboard courtesy of Ooi Tze Liang and Chew Yiwei. 

The silver medal was won by the host country Nguyễn Tùng Dương & Phương Thế Anh. 

This is a good start for Malaysia as this team is expected to sweep all gold medals in diving.

The formal opening ceremony of the 31st SEA Games is on May 12.
