Singapore will send its men and women's football national teams to the 31st Southeast Asian Games according to an article published on ASEAN Football official website.

Also, in a post on Football Association of Singapore Facebook Page dated February 17, it mentioned "See you in Hanoi for the 31st SEA Games!" with a photo of some men and women football athletes.
With these confirmation, both teams are among the 330 athletes that will contend in the biennial meet to be hosted by Vietnam this coming May.
For its women football team, it will have a taste of competition after 19 years of non-participation in SEA Games. It's last SEA Games appearance was in 2003 SEA Games which is also held in Vietnam.
Aside from Singapore's football teams, its volleyball teams (both men and women) also express its willingness to compete in Hanoi SEA Games.
On its Facebook Page (VAS - Volleyball Association of Singapore) & on its YouTube Channel, photos and short video clips of its national training pool are being posted and introduced. Based on their posts, its national teams are training hard for SEA Games as it follows strict health protocols.
This could also be a great comeback for its women's volleyball team which skipped the last two SEA Games editions . Their last appearance was in 2015 when they hosted the SEA Games.
With Singapore's football and volleyball teams joining the Vietnam's SEA Games this year, it will be a more exciting competition despite some COVID protocols will be implemented during the games.
The 31st Southeast Asian Games will open on May 12 and will concluded on May 23.
