SEA Games 2019 News 082: Icy Feud Affects Malaysian Skaters


Malaysian ice skating team selection is suffering an icy war between two skating organizations - the Malaysia Ice Skating Federation (MISF) and the Ice Skating Association of Malaysia (ISAM).

Most affected of the feud are the national ice skaters whose training program has been marred.

It was also reported that some ice skaters were frozen out of the national squad and have no chance to defend their gold in the the 30th Southeast Asian Games to be held in the Philippines.

At the 2017 SEA Games, Malaysia won four gold medals in the short track speed skating with Anja Chong collecting three form the four gold medals.

Aside from Chong, Julian Yee also took gold medal in the men's figure skating event.
