The Philippines women's national basketball team also known as Perlas Pilipinas gears up for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games.
Series of competitions are lined up for Perlas Pilipinas team before the biennial meet starts.
The preparation includes FIBA sanctioned tournaments, the Jones Cup in Taipei and couple of team-buildings and tune-ups.
The team already left the Philippines for their first team building in Taipei. The five-day training camp includes tune up games against top collegiate and club teams.
With five additional Filipino-American talents, the 17 current national pool may balloon to 21 players.
Already saw action in their tune-up match against Hungarian club team was Filipino-American Kelli Hayes who boost Perlas Pilipinas to victory, 82-78.
Aside from Hayes, Afril Bernardino, Claire Castro and Janine Pontejos were the standouts of the match.
