Malaysia plans to compete in 51 sports at the 30th Southeast Asian Games to be held in the Philippines.
The 51 sports were identified based on the medal prospect of the Malaysia team.
From the 51 sports, 12 were included after OCM received appeals submitted by non-affiliated associations.
These twelve sports are e-sports, floorball, ice skating, jujitsu, kickboxing, modern pentathlon, obstacle course, skateboarding, soft tennis, surfing, triathlon and underwater hockey.
From the 56 sports to be featured at the SEA Games 2019, Malaysian delegation will not compete in five sports. These are handball, arnis, kurash, sambo and wrestling which are all listed in Category B.
Malaysia is the overall Games champion at the 2017 SEA Games which featured 38 sports.
