The SMM Asian U21 Beach Volleyball Championship was concluded with Thailand sweeping the men's and women's titles.
Thatsarida Singchuea and Pawarun Chanthawichai captured the women's title after beating Chanthira and Yodsaphat in all Thai finals. The match scores were 22-20, 13-21, 25-23.
The two Thai teams defeated two teams from China in the semi finals.
With the victory of Singchuea and Chanthawichai, Thailand defended the women's title they have won two years ago.
In the men's event, it was the tandem of Phanupong and Phichako who became victorious over their rival Australia in the finals. It was a sweet revenge for Thailand from the last Asian U21 beach volleyball championship.
The match ended with identical two-set scores of 21-15.
Aside from Thailand, other Southeast Asian nations who took part of the event were Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, Laos and Malaysia.
The tournament was held in Roi-Et in Thailand from March 15 to 18.
