SEA Games 2019 News 020: Indonesia Targets 9 Gold Medals in Canoe-Kayak events

A total of 18 gold medals will be given in rowing, canoe, kayak, and dragon boat sports at the 30th Southeast Asian Games this coming November in the Philippines.

And setting to snatch half of this number of gold medals is the red and white flag, Indonesia.

The Indonesian Rowing Association (PODSI) set a target to bag nine gold medals or 50 percent of total medals and they are optimistic of achieving it.

Indonesia had a good performance at the recent Asian Games held in their own yard collecting 10 medals including a gold medal.

With Asian level of performance, Indonesia is not only aiming for the best for their athletes but also to qualify in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Some junior rowers are expected to be fielded at the SEA Games 2019 in the Philippines.

Subic will be the venue of most outdoor water sports this coming biennial meet.
