SEA Games 2019 News 001: Events omitted in Swimming and Athletics

Some events at the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines are being axed like in the sports of aquatics and athletics.

Countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam are those affected by the said absence of events. 

Some events in Aquatics like diving and synchronized swimming are being omitted, like more in swimming where Singapore and Vietnam favorite disciplines are being axed.

In athletics,  Philippines will not hold several key track-and-field events. 

The organisers revealed a list of 41 events that did not include women’s long jump, high jump, heptathlon, the marathon, the 10,000m race or the men’s and women’s walk.

But the organisers added two events never before seen in the SEA Games – the mixed relay events of 4x100m and 4x400m. 

Participating countries will have their chance to submit their opinions on the list before the final version is announced on February 28.
The Southeast Asia Games will be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11 in different main hubs like in Manila, Subic and Clark.
