Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, January 24, 2019: The Olympic Council of Malaysia organised a special briefing on the 30th SEA Games Philippines 2019 for National Sports Associations on Wednesday, January 23 at the Tan Sri Hamzah Arena, OCM Indoor Sports Complex Kuala Lumpur.

The briefing was officiated by the President of OCM, Dato’ Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria.

The OCM invited Mr. Ramon Suzara, Chief Operating Officer of the Philippines SEA Games Organising Committee (PHISGOC), to brief and update on the latest progress of the 30th SEA Games Philippines 2019.

The briefing by Mr. Suzara was very informative and covered various matters namely the 56 sports and 523 events, competition venues and facilities, accommodation, transportation, protocol, slogan, logo and mascot of the Games.

Thirty-seven of the 40 NSAs affiliated to the OCM for the sports to be contested at the 30th SEA Games and three NSAs non-affiliated to the OCM attended the briefing together with the office bearers of the OCM and representatives of other sports organisations.

A number of representatives from the NSAs took the opportunity to appeal to the PHISGOC through Mr. Ramon Suzara for additional events.

This is among the few new initiatives introduced by the OCM in order to provide better services to its affiliate members.

A press conference was held at the OCM Sports Museum after the special briefing.

Y.B. Senator Datuk Megat Zulkarnain (Chef de Mission), who had earlier received the official invitation to participate in the 30th SEA Games on behalf of the OCM, handed the invitation to Dato’ Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, President of OCM, and witnessed by Mr. Ramon Suzara, COO of PHISGOC.
