The Southeast Asian Triathlon (SEATA) Sprint Championships 2018 was held last June 17 in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.
Three Southeast Asian countries namely host Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore took part of the said event with Philippines taking the top honours.
It was a 1-2 finish for the host with John Chicano topped the men's event with a time of 00:54:54 followed by compatriot Andrew Remolino timing 00:55:38 and to complete the top 3 was Indonesia's Jauhari Johan who clocked 00:55:44.
For the women's side, it was Kim Kilgroe of the Philippines who clinched the number 1 spot clocking 01:02:37 while Singapore's Phoebe Kee claimed the second spot with 01:04:28.
2017 SEA Games gold medalist Nikko Huelgas of the Philippines just finished in 7th place with a time of 00:57:42.
Due to weather conditions, the race was conducted as a duathlon with distances: Run 2.5 km (1 lap), Bike 19.3 km (3 laps) and 5km Run (2 laps).
