The 17th World University Golf Championship 2018 was held at the Pradera Verde Golf and Country Club in Lubao, Pampanga in the Philippines from May 16 to 19.A total of 68 student-athletes from 13 countries was seen in action in the four-day tournament including our Southeast Asian (SEA) countries like Malaysia and host Philippines.
Rupert Zaragosa, Jonas Christian Magcalayo, Lanz William Uy, Annika Victoria Guangko and Denize Angela Pineda represent the Philippines of the 4-day event organized by the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines.
Malaysia is represented by Muhammad Razif, Muhammad Zafran Abdullah and Sazanur Iman Salenin in the men's event while Nur Eliana Ariffin, Nurul Syahirah Saparudin and Soot Yuet Tham composed the women's side.
Rupert Zaragosa finished 6th place overall in men's individual. His team (Philippines) finished 7th overall while Team Malaysia ended 9th place overall in team event.In the women's category, Nur Eliana Ariffin of Malaysia was the highest rank golfer from Southeast Asia placing 16th overall. Her team finished 8th overall in the leaderboard.
