Gymnastics | World Cup 2018 - Melbourne

The International Gymnastics Federation’s Individual (FIG) Apparatus World Cup - Melbourne leg was held at the Hisense Arena from February 22 through to 25.  

The competition featured five men's events (Floor, Pommel Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and High Bar) and four women's events (Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor)

Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore sent their best gymnasts in the competition participated by the best gymnasts around the globe.

Philippines won bronze medal in the men's vault courtesy of Carlos Yulo. He registered 14.016 points and placed 5th in the qualification round to advance in the finals. And at the finals, Yulo garnered 14.223 to tie with Keisuke Asato of Japan in third place.

Aside from Yulo, Southeast Asian gymnasts who saw action in the same event were Singapore's Wah Toon Hoe (13.299) and Aizat Bin Muhammad Jufrie (11.899) but failed to advance in the final event.
