1936 Summer Olympics


The 1936 Summer Olympics was held in Berlin, Germany from August 1 to 16 with 49 participating countries competing in 129 events in 19 sports. The games motto was "I Call the Youth of the World".

The Philippines was the sole participant from Southeast Asia with 31 athletes competing in 6 sports. These sports were athletics, basketball, boxing, shooting, swimming and wrestling.

The Philippines won its 5th Olympic medal courtesy of Miguel White in athletics. White won the bronze medal in the men's 400m hurdles. And this was the only medal won by the Philippines at this edition.
