50th All Japan Championship 2017


The 50th Annual  All Japan (10-Ball) Championship 2017 was held victoriously at the Archaic Hall in Amagasaki City, Hyogo, Japan.

The All-Japan 10 Ball Championship became an all-Filipino finals. Johann Chua defeated his compatriot Jundal Mezon with a large margin score, 11-2. 

Before reaching the finals, Chua defeated Liu Hai Tao of China in the semi finals while Mezon defeated Chinese Taipei's Chang Lu-Yong. 

Aside from Chua and Mezon, two other Philippines cuers reached the quarterfinals. These were Jeffery Ignacio and Jeffery De Luna. 

Aside from the Philippines, other Southeast Asian countries present at the tournament were Indonesia (Muhammad Bewi Simanjuntak) Singapore (Aloysius Yapp & Koh Seng Anh) and Vietnam (Quoc Hoang Duong). 

Also in the tournament were billiard world champions Efren Reyes, Lee Van Corteza and Warren Kiamco, all from the Philippines.

The winner takes home 1,800,000 JPY or $17,780.
The women's division, Chen Si-Ming won the title beating Miyuki Kuribayashi in the finals.
