The stage 3 of Asian Cup of Archery was held in Chinese Taipei from July 4 to July 9. Three nations from Southeast Asian competed in this tournament. These were Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Photo via @AtletMalaysia Malaysia sends another message to the rest of its Southeast Asia rivals in SEA Games 2017 as it grabs five medals in this competition.Malaysia reached the gold medal match against Chinese Taipei in the men's compound team event. But the host halted Malaysia's attempt to snatch the gold. Team Malaysia just settled for silver medal while Thailand was also defeated by India for the third place.In the women's team, Malaysia faced Iran for bronze medal. It was Iran who grabbed the third place.Luckily, Thailand finally reached the finals of the compound mixed team event assured of silver medal. Their opponent India has shown their class in archery as they win over the Thai archers for gold. Team Thailand received the silver medal.Malaysia and Thailand battled against each other for bronze medal in the men's recurve team event after both teams were defeated in the semifinals by Chinese Taipei and Korea respectively. The match ended with Malaysia walking the bronze medal.In the women's recurve team and recurve mixed team , Malaysia fought against powerhouse India in battle for third place. Malaysia won in the women's team event but lost their match in the mixed recurve team event.Zulfadhli Ruslan reached the bronze medal match in men's compound against Hsiang-Hsuan Chen of Chinese Taipei. But it was the host who prevailed and win the bronze.In the women's compound, Malaysia's Salleh Fatin Nurfatehah Mat also reached the bronze medal match. She battled against another Chinese Taipei Ming-Chi Lin but this time Malaysia prevailed to win the bronze.Participating Southeast Asian archers in this competition
