9th World Shuttlecock Championships 2017

The 9th World Shuttlecock Championships was held at the Hong Kong Lai Chi Kok Park Sports Center from July 23 to July 27.
Participating countries in this tournament includes our Southeast Asian countries Indonesia and Vietnam along with France, Italy, Germany, Chinese Taipei, Macau, Mongolia, India, Hungary and host Hong Kong.

The competition includes men's and women's team events, men's and women's doubles, men's and women's singles, and mixed doubles.

Vietnam showcased its greatness again at the world championships of shuttlecock. Its first gold medal came from Ho Phuoc Sang who won over a Chinese rival 17-21, 21-12, 21-18 in the men's singles finals.

Its second gold medal was courtesy of Duo Anh Tuan and Ngoc Hai who defeated a Chinese pair 2-0 in the men’s doubles final. However, its women's double team failed to win against a Chinese pair.

Vietnam also took the gold in men's team event after beating China, 21-16, 21-19. 

While Vietnam women's team follows another victory by dominating the team from China, 21-15 and 21-15 to go home another gold medal for Vietnam.  
Vietnam dominated this edition and once again proved that they are powerhouse in this sport. 
World Shuttlecock Championships is held every two years.
