🚣‍ ICF Women’s Canoe Cup 2017

Our Southeast Asian athletes competed at the ICF Women’s Canoe Cup 2017 held last June 7 and 8 in Szeged City, Hungary.

Among the athletes from SEA, Vietnam's Truong Thi Phuong and Nguyen Thi Tuyet won the gold medal in the C2 Women Junior 200m category with a time of 48.095s. China and Kazakhstan settled for silver and bronze medals respectively. In the same event, Thailand's Kanyatad Boonma and Rawiwan Sukkaew finished the race in 6th place with a time of 1:01.057. 

After a gold medal finished, the tandem of Phuong and Tuyet won silver medal in the C2 Women Junior 500m. The second medal for the Vietnamese duo. 

But Phuong captured another gold in the C1 Women Junior 2000m clocking 10:31.094 while compatriot Tuyet won the bronze medal after clocking 10:42.825. This is third medal for these athletes.  

Phuong also won bronze medals in the C1 Women Junior 200m and C1 Women Junior 500m categories making her the most medalled athlete from Southeast Asia.

Thailand's Orasa Thiangkathok won second place and received the silver medal after clocking 49.826 behind Canada's Laurence Vincent-Lapointe who timed 46.242. 

Other medalists were Nguyen Thi Ngan and Tran Thi Lan of Vietnam. The team won bronze medal in the C2 Women 500m event. 

Other athletes who competed in this event were Rosalyn Esquerra (Philippines), Yuan Yin Lim (Singapore) and Kanyatad Boonma and Rawiwan Sukkaew (Thailand).
