🥊 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships 2017

The ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships 2017 was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from April 30 to May 7.

179 boxers from 28 Asian countries took part of this event and among them were five Southeast Asian boxers. These were Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Of the twenty-seven (27) boxers from Southeast Asia, only two made it to the medal podium. These were Philippines' Rogen Ladon in the Men's Light Fly (46-49kg) and Daniel Maamo in the Men's Fly (52kg).

Both pugilists won bronze medals in their respective categories and both boxers qualify for the 2017 AIBA World Championships to be held in Hamburg, Germany from August 25 to September 3. Joining them were Simon Makarawe & Kornelis Kwangu Langu of Indonesia and another Filipino boxer Eumir Felix Marcial.
Host Uzbekistan topped this continental competition by winning 9 out of 10 gold medals.
