The 2017 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-20 Futsal Championship was held in Bangkok, Thailand from May 16 to May 26.
In Group A, Southeast Asian countries Brunei, Malaysia and Thailand competed against Bahrain, Iraq and Aghanistan in a round robin format. Thailand finished second place in the group behind Iraq who topped the group with a clean record. Malaysia placed 4th and Brunei with winless record placed last in the group. Host Thailand and Iraq were the only teams to advance in the knockout quarterfinals. Below were the schedules and results of SEA Nations in group stage preliminaries.

In Group B, Indonesia and Vietnam were grouped against Japan, Tajikistan and Chinese Taipei. Indonesia topped the group and advance to the quarter final along with Japan. While Vietnam just settled for third position in the group and was not able to proceed to the next round. Below were the schedules and results of SEA Nations in group stage preliminaries.

Meanwhile in Group C, Myanmar is the only Southeast Asian team in the group. The team competed against Uzekistan, Lebanon, Hong Kong and Qatar. Myanmar was unable to advance to the next round as it finished 4th in the 5-teamed group. Below were the schedules and results of SEA Nations in group stage preliminaries.

In the quarter finals, host Thailand was up against Indonesia. The match ended with host going to the semi-finals. The scores were 4-2 in favor of Thailand while Indonesia was kick out of the competition.
In the final-four match, Thailand was defeated by powerhouse Iran in an exciting semi final match. The match ended 7-5 in an overtime favoring Iran which relegated team Thailand for the bronze medal match.
Team Thailand faced the team from Uzbekistan for the 3rd place position. The game ended by a pure dominance of the host with a full time score of 8-1. Thailand claimed the bronze medal while Iran won the title beating Iraq in the gold medal match.
