The 4th ASEAN School Games was hosted by Indonesia in Surabaya. It was the first time that Indonesia hosted the annual sporting event. It was held from June 28 to July 6, 2012. Seven countries participated and 11 sports were contested in this youthful event.
141 sports events were contested in Track and Field, Sepak Takraw (Boys), Golf, Badminton, Basketball, Gymnastic, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Pencak Silat.
Below is the final medal tally of the 4th edition of ASG.
Thailand was emerged the overall champion for the second straight time and for third time in the history of ASG. While Indonesia placed second with 33 gold medals.
Brunei and the Philippines failed to capture gold medal for this year's edition.
