Singapore & Malaysia Won in World Table Tennis Championships


 
The 2023 ITTF World Veterans Championships took place at the Sultanate of Oman from January 15 to 21 with Singapore and Malaysia getting medals at the event.

Singapore's Mui Heng Liang won the gold medal in the Women’s Singles (50-54 Years) beating Shilpa Joshi of India in the finals, 11-7, 11-6, 11-5.

Meanwhile Tay Kee of Malaysia celebrated with two medals in the men's events. He won silver medal in the men's singles (65-69 years) event. He was defeated by Paal Guttormsen of Norway in the finals, 5-11, 3-11, 5-11. However, he won gold medal in the men's doubles (65 years) event with partner Risto Pitkänen of Finland.

Only Malaysia and Singapore from Southeast Asia participated at this year's edition of World Veterans Championships in Muscat.
