SEA Games 2019 News 086: PH Boxers For SEAG Still Unnamed

Philippines has been a dominant country when it comes to the sport of boxing in the Southeast Asian Games. In fact, they've won two gold medals at the 2017 SEA Games and recently at the 2019 Indian Open.

For the past SEA Games, it has been Thailand who is the archrival of Pinoy pulgilists while the other countries are developing fast to catch these two boxing powerhouses, Indonesia and Vietnam for instance.

Because of this, team Philippines did not give any number of gold medals to be targeted at the biennial meet but chances are bigger as home court and crowd advantages are there for the Filipino boxers.

Some marked athletes which may banner the Philippine flag in the upcoming 30th SEA Games are rising star Carlo Paalam, Felix Marcial, Ian Clark Bautista and Josie Gabuco.

There will be several international tournaments and training camps for the national boxers including its team B which may also open doors for them to represent the country in this year's SEA Games.

Naming of athletes for the December biennial meet will be by late September or early October as reported.

Boxing offers 13 gold medals - 8 for the men's division and 5 for the women's side in SEA Games 2019 which will be held on November 30 to December 11.
