The 17th ASEAN University Games (AUG) 2014 was held in Palembang, Indonesia from December 9 to December 19. This is the 4th time Indonesia is hosting the biennial sporting event for university student-athlete with 20 sports to be contested. "Sportivity for Unity" is this edition's theme.

Ampera Bridge symbolizes this event to be held in Palembang, Indonesia. Ampera bridge is a symbol of Palembang community pride. The red color on the bridge shall symbolize the courage and spirit of all participants in the 2014 ASEAN University Games competition.
Bidar is a boat typical of South Sumatra Province. This Bidar boat symbolizes ASEAN activities University Games 2014, and connects the countries in Southeast Asia.
The chain of eleven circles symbolizes the eleven countries of Southeast Asia participating in the 2014 ASEAN University Games. The chain also symbolizes the close friendship between the countries and participants involved in the events. The gold chain symbolizes the achievement of the objectives of the participants.
